The Beauty of the Jungle of the Fire Lord

Besides enjoying the sensation of cities around Thailand, it is also necessary for you to enjoy the nature sensation. In this case, you can just visit a specific area known as Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex. Interestingly, this area is considered as one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. More than 800 species of fauna are living there. Those species are including birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Most of the fauna species there are those who are endangered species.


The Beauty of the jugle

This area is also known as the Jungle of the Fire Lord because it consists of large area of forest. Previously, most of travelers were killed because of malaria if they want dare to pass the woods around the area. In the next development, railway and road were built. The railway and the road itself become the connection between Central Thailand and Isaan. After several improvement projects, the name was changed into Dong Phayayen or the tamed wild forest. There are also several areas around Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex which are considered as protected areas. Those areas are including Nam Phong National Park, Sap Langka Wildlife Sanctuary, and Sai Thong National Park.



Certain heritage species such as Adina Cordifolia, Indian bison, Sumatran serows, and flying squirrel become several species which are protected there. Because Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex is a heritage site it means far away from human being and definitely you can feel the fresh air as well as the beauty of the scenery. The total area which is protected by UNESCO is around 6155 km2 and the main function is to keep the fauna species safe from extinction.
