Takht-i-Bahi, a Buddha’s Legacy in a Muslim Country

So, perhaps, you can make a plan for traveling to a place with cultural values such as Takht-i-Bahi. Takht-i-Bahi is the Buddhist monastic complex that was founded in the early first century. It is located in Pakistan, a country in which it is known as Islamic country. Takht-i-Bahi is known as the most impressive and complete Buddhist monastery in Pakistan. Takht-i-Bahi which also means throne of origins is consisting of four areas. They are the court of stupas, the early monastic complex, the temple complex, and the tantric monastic complex.

The Takht

The court of the stupas is a place in which a cluster of stupas are embellished with a tall niche to enshrine Buddhist statue. The early monastic complex is completed with residential cells that surround open court, refectory, and the assembly hall. The temple complex consists of the main stupa in the middle of the courtyard. Furthermore, tantric monastic complex is use for keeping tantric practice. Moreover, many sculptures that were found there told a story about Buddha’s life and some others about Buddha and Bodhisattva.
