The National Park of Mesa Verde is located in the Southwestern of Colorado. This national park is famous for having Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings that constructed within the alcoves of the cliff. A lot of people say that the trip to Mesa Verde will not be completed if that site is not visited.
Visitors may get inside of the national park after one hour of driving from Cortez, Colorado. There is Mesa Verde headquarter that is waiting and welcoming the visitors. Headquarter of Mesa Verde may also be reached from Durango, Colorado for one hour and a half of driving. Inside of the national park there are lodges, gift shop, restaurant as well as other facilities. This national park is open for every day. However, the full service for the visitors will only available from the mid June to the Labor Day. Some facilities are only open for the certain period of time every year.
Mesa Verde annually being visited by almost half a million people and the national park is almost always full with a lot of people. Early summer or the late summer will be the best time to visit the national park and most of the facilities inside of the national park are open. The admission fee to enter the national park is varied by season. In spring and summer, one week admission per vehicle is $15 while pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists will need to pay for $8. During autumn and winter, the fee will be $10 per vehicle and $5 for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists.
