Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a worthy place to be visited by the people who claim themselves as the lovers of nature. This is the area of the undisturbed rainforest of Sri Lanka and is listed in the Biosphere Reserve and the World Heritage of UNESCO. This reserve is being bordered by Gin Ganga in the South and Koskulana Ganga in the North.
The species of birds and butterflies are varied here in this Sinharaja Forest Reserve and there are a lot of people who definitely enjoy studying birds and butterflies. Of course, there are other things those can be seen here in this reserve. There are mammals, amphibians and a lot others. But the reserve is very dense so the visitors may can’t see the living animals while walking around the forest here. One thing that wanted to be avoided by a lot of people is a heavy rain that may fall especially during the certain period in a year. November to April considered being the driest time for this reserve to be visited by a lot of visitors. Reching the reserve is an easy thing to be done because visitors may come to this reserve from Colombo through Kudawa entrance or from Galle or Matara through Pitadeniya and Morning Side entrance. Inside of the reserve, there are facilities like lodging those will welcome the visitors.
