Anuradhapura, the Buddhism City

Anuradhapura was founded by Sinhalese king Pandukhabaya. This city became the capital city of his government in 437 BC. This city also becomes the Buddhist center. However, in 993 AD, because of Tamil invasion, this city was abandoned. But, now, this city becomes the UNESCO World Heritage.
